Years ago, I attended a conference where Jack Canfield, co-author of the Chicken Soup for the Soul series was speaking. He asked all of us to stand up, to extend our arms as far as we could to the side and note where we were. Then to repeat, and extend further. Somehow, we all seemed to reach further than we did the time before.
Poet John O’Donohue said “May the frames of your belonging be large enough for the dreams of your soul.”
Both men reminded us of the same thing. Where are we settling? Limiting our growth and opportunities by staying safe and thinking smaller than our dreams dictate we go? Expanding our vision opens us up to seeing possibilities we might have missed, challenges us to rethink our current paradigms and promises bigger dividends, whatever the outcome.
