Have you ever befriended someone while camping, hiking, bowling, or any activity where the status of career wasn’t the primary concern?  Then later you found out they were in a profession that really surprised you and definitely would have swayed your judgment on them one way or another?

It’s really time, especially in business, to help people separate who they are from what they do. When people tie all their self-worth into their success, it’s a set-up for failure. Reminding others that they are valued as they are, helps create a healthy environment where work can be constructively criticized and the individual is still intact.
